Field Trip to Moorina is CANCELLED due to weather
Hi Everyone, The weather forecast for the northeast (Scottsdale) has been getting steadily worse, the latest being up to 50 mm of rain and very strong winds. In the interest of safety we've decided to pull the plug. Keep an eye out on our events calendar for upcoming trips to Penguin (October) and Corinna (November).

Field Trip to Penguin Fossicking Area
The next field trip of the Prospectors and Miners Association of Tasmania will take place at the Penguin Fossicking Area on Saturday 13th October 2018. This is a fairly safe and family-friendly field trip. As usual, we will meet at 9:00 first to briefly discuss any Association business, followed by the field trip. Join us for the third PMAT field trip of 2019 and quarterly meeting, this time to look for gemstones at the Weld River Fossicking Area in Moorina. Hi Everyone, Due to the Moina trip having to be cancelled, the 30 November trip will be to Cradle and Tobacco Creeks, in Golconda, north of Lisle, from 9 am onwards. The rush to Cradle Creek, near the time that the Lisle goldfield was discovered, produced over 2,000 ounces of gold.
